Na Ukrainie jest bardzo dużo bezpańskich psów. Wysokie, małe, chude, trochę grubsze, białe z czarną główką, łaciate, ryże, podpalane , z pięknymi ślepiami, które proszą o jedzenie, kundelki. Rozmnażają się w błyskawicznym tempie, kierowcy nawet nie widzą, kiedy przejechali po jakimś szczeniaku bawiącym się na ulicy. Tworzą grupy, które mają swoje rewiry, ponoć na jesieni będzie ich tyle, że połowa z nich zostanie uśmiercona…
Przed EURO 2012 władze Ukrainy "wysprzątały"ulice z bezpańskich psów.
Ale problem w dalszym ciągu nie jest rozwiązany.
Sabaka była to akcja artystyczna, którą zrealizowałam we wrzesniu 2012 na plenerze nad Morzem Czarnym na Ukrainie.
Narysowałam piaskiem psa w miejscu, gdzie wcześniej samochód rozjechał szczeniaka bawiącego się na ulicy.
Dźwięk dzwonka pojawia się za każdym razem, gdy po rysunku przejeżdża samochód.

Sabaka in ukrainian means" a dog".
In Ukraine there are a lot of stray dogs. They “tarnish” the landscape; homeless, usually hungry, they camp out on lawns, in parks, on squares in front of houses. They multiply in rapid motion and form into groups, which have their own districts. They are not aggressive but humble as every creature that needs support. Cities do not have shelters for animals, or any idea how to resolve the problem of homeless dogs. There is no money for sterilization program.
Before the EURO 2012 Ukraina “cleaned up” the city from stray dogs killing thousands of them. But the problem is not resolved.
After the Euro there still will be guests and stray dogs will “disturb”.
"Sabaka" was an artistic action that I realized this summer in September during workshops in Ukraine, at the Black Sea, near Odessa.
This dog I’ve drawn with sand in a place where a car smashed a puppy (there were so many that the driver had not even seen when he drived after a puppy playing on the street).
I thought that at least for the moment of drawing the image with sand I can perpetuate dog’s existence and show others once again the problem.
The sound of ring is repeated, whenever a car travel after the drawing.
